Daughter of TV Reporter Killed in Bison Attack Speaks Out
A viral video showing a grandfather being tossed into the air by a raging bison at Yellowstone has reopened painful wounds for Emma Williams. Her father, Keith Williams, a beloved Texas TV reporter and anchor, was killed last year in a similar attack at Caprock Canyons State Park.

A Tragic Day at Caprock Canyons
Emma recalled the terrifying moment: “My dad looked at me and he said, ‘Just move very slowly. Let’s get back in the car. This isn’t good. This isn’t safe.’ As soon as he got to the driver’s side of the car, the bison whipped around and charged at him.”
Despite keeping a safe distance, the animal attacked without provocation, fatally injuring Keith. A photo taken moments before the attack shows the family near the bison, unaware of the danger about to unfold.
Calls for Stronger Safety Measures
Emma is now urging tighter regulations to protect visitors in parks where bison roam freely: “I’m just asking whether we can create a safer separation between people on foot and large, potentially deadly wildlife.”
She emphasized that even when tourists do nothing to provoke the animals, attacks can still occur — as seen in the recent Yellowstone incident.
Remembering Keith Williams
Keith Williams was a respected journalist in Texas, known for his reporting and anchoring. His death shocked colleagues and viewers alike, leaving behind a legacy of trusted storytelling and community connection.
A Warning for Tourists
Emma’s message is clear: bison are unpredictable and dangerous, and more must be done to prevent future tragedies. As viral videos continue to show close encounters, her family’s loss serves as a sobering reminder of the risks posed by wildlife in national parks.
