Sydnie Christmas stuns concert crowd with Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” as fans praise her powerful vocals on one of pop music’s hardest songs

As Sydnie Christmas prepares to release her highly anticipated new album and return to the United States for a series of concerts this August, fans are once again celebrating one of the most unforgettable moments from her sold out 2025 tour.

During a performance at The Lowry in Manchester, the Britain’s Got Talent winner delivered a breathtaking live rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” the iconic power ballad from The Bodyguard. Rather than simply imitate the original, Christmas made the song her own with soaring vocals, rich vibrato, and the emotional storytelling that has become her trademark.

Widely regarded as one of the most demanding songs in pop music, “I Have Nothing” requires extraordinary vocal control and range. Fans agreed that Christmas rose to the challenge, with many saying she honored Houston’s legacy while creating a fresh interpretation.

“Whitney would have been proud! Well done, young lady!” one viewer wrote, while another echoed, “Whitney would be so proud.”

Others praised her ability to make such a legendary song feel personal. “It’s tough to do justice to a song Whitney is so joined to, but Sydnie’s tweaks and beat changes make it her own. Bravo,” one fan commented. Another added, “You slowed it down and made it your own version. You’ve got the goods.”

Many listeners highlighted not only her voice but also her emotional connection with every lyric.

“What makes her very special is how she connects to the audience,” one fan wrote. Another said, “She embodies every song she sings with such emotion. She knows how to deliver not only the notes but the emotional parts with excellent timing.”

Several concertgoers admitted the performance left them overwhelmed. “Goosebumps, tears and unbridled happiness all rolled into one,” one attendee shared, while another wrote, “Just beautiful. Tears and goosebumps. Just incredible voice and magnetism.”

Others focused on the sheer difficulty of the song. “You killed it, Sydnie. It’s a hard song to sing, but you got it,” one fan commented, while another declared, “This girl can sing the phone book.”

The praise continued with comments such as, “She can sing anything,” “One of the best singers I have ever heard,” and “That was magnificent, and I’m a 60 year old metalhead.”

The performance has gained renewed attention as Christmas enters a major new chapter in her career. The West End star and singer songwriter is set to release her new album this fall, following the success of the singles “Lean on You” and “Run.” The album campaign will be supported by PBS broadcasts of Sydnie Christmas: Live in London, filmed during her sold out concert at London’s Adelphi Theatre.

Before the album arrives, Christmas will return to the United States for a mini tour with concerts in Philadelphia on August 15, New York City on August 16, and Homer, New York on August 17. She will also perform at David Foster’s 40th Anniversary Gala and Concert before launching a larger U.S. tour in spring 2027.
