A Wedding Fit for a Stadium
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce didn’t just get married — they staged one of the most expensive celebrity weddings in recent memory, transforming Madison Square Garden into an intimate venue for more than 1,000 guests at a cost estimated between $20 million and $30 million or more.

Breaking Down the Bill
Esther Lee, editorial director at The Knot Worldwide, gave Page Six an exclusive look at where the money went. For context, she noted the average American wedding costs around $34,000 — a figure that makes the couple’s celebration almost incomparable in scale. Simply securing MSG, including several days of setup and teardown along with the infrastructure needed to convert the arena, likely cost between $5 million and $10 million on its own.

Millions in Flowers Alone
Decor made up another enormous chunk of the budget. Lee estimated the florals and design elements cost at least $5 million, factoring in custom draping and full carpet installation needed to reshape the massive space into something that felt personal and intimate rather than cavernous.

Feeding and Moving 1,100 Guests
Catering and guest logistics for the roughly 1,100 attendees added another $2.5 million to $3 million, according to Lee, while bridal attire, menswear, and entertainment contributed an estimated $2 million more. Custom touches like personalized “T&T” branded gifts, candle sets inspired by the couple’s favorite scents, and elaborate party games and prizes rounded out the final total.
Privacy Came Before Anything Else
Before a single flower or color scheme was chosen, Lee said privacy and security dictated the earliest planning stages. For a couple with Swift and Kelce’s level of fame, that meant finding a venue that allowed for full street closures and private, direct vehicle access — a major reason Madison Square Garden made sense as the location.

Behind the Scenes of the Planning Process
Lee estimated the couple likely sat through four to six major planning sessions, reviewing full blueprints, tasting catering options, approving custom Dior sketches, and attending multiple fittings in the months leading up to the big day.
A Star-Studded Guest List
The wedding drew an A-list crowd, including Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Machine Gun Kelly, Kelsea Ballerini, and Erin Andrews. Swift walked down the aisle in a custom Christian Dior haute couture gown, with Adam Sandler officiating the ceremony. Her brother, Austin Swift, served as her “man of honor,” while Kelce’s brother Jason stood in as his best man.

A Night the City Won’t Forget
Around 7:30 p.m., the exterior of Madison Square Garden lit up with massive digital displays reading “JUST&T MARRIED!” — a public nod to a wedding that, according to Lee, functioned as a major economic boost for New York’s local economy and the wedding industry at large.
