Seconds From Tragedy on a Brooklyn Sidewalk
A terrifying scene unfolded on a Brooklyn street late Tuesday night after two cars, allegedly involved in a road rage confrontation, blew through a red light and nearly killed a pedestrian before one of them slammed directly into a building under construction.

Caught on Camera
Surveillance footage captured a 20-year-old man walking along Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 11:15 p.m. when a black Cadillac and a BMW suddenly sped into frame, according to police. The pedestrian managed to leap out of the way just in time as both vehicles narrowly missed him, with the BMW ultimately crashing straight into the side of the building.
A Business Destroyed Before It Even Opened
The impact tore through an under-construction yoga studio that had been just weeks away from its grand opening. Owner Mason Mason told local media the damage was extensive and described the scene as jarring, saying he struggled to understand how something like this could happen. The studio’s planned August 1 opening has since been postponed indefinitely.

Three People Injured, Two Arrests Made
The pedestrian was injured in the chaos, along with both drivers involved in the crash. Cadillac driver Anthony Hayes, 56, of Binghamton, New York, and BMW driver Robert Walker, 43, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, were both taken into custody at the scene. All three individuals were transported to Kings County Hospital and are listed in stable condition.
Serious Charges Filed
Police say Hayes now faces a lengthy list of charges, including vehicular assault, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving. Walker was also charged with vehicular assault, criminal mischief, and running a red light.

Emergency Crews Respond
In the aftermath of the crash, National Grid was called to the scene to shut off gas lines as a safety precaution, while the city’s Department of Buildings was notified to assess structural damage, according to the FDNY.
A Community Left Shaken
For a business owner just weeks away from opening his second location, the incident has meant an abrupt and painful setback, with extensive repairs now needed before the studio can move forward with its opening plans. For the pedestrian who narrowly escaped serious injury or worse, the footage stands as a stark reminder of how quickly an ordinary night out can turn dangerous.
As investigators continue piecing together exactly what led to the alleged road rage confrontation, the video of the near-miss has already begun circulating widely online, drawing shock from viewers over just how close the outcome came to being far more tragic.
