Prince William and Prince Harry are reportedly no longer on speaking terms, with fans wondering if the brothers will ever make amends. At one time, Princess Catherine was forced to issue a two-word warning to them during a royal engagement.
The relationship between the brothers first started to fracture around the time Prince Harry started dating Meghan Markle. Prince William allegedly raised an alarm about the speed at which his brother’s relationship was progressing ahead of their 2018 wedding, reports The Independent. Tensions heightened after Harry and Megan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey and then again after the publication of Harry’s book, Spare, in 2023, which unleashed a raft of damaging allegations against the Royal Family.

A professional lipreader shared insight into a tense exchange between Prince William and Prince Harry during an earlier appearance as the “fab four”, as they were known, along with Meghan Markle and Princess Catherine.
In an episode of Channel 5’s show Lip-Reading The Royals, where experts share their thoughts on inaudible discussions between family members, Nicola Hickling claims an argument took place between the brothers in 2022.
The incident happened just two days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. During a royal walkabout at Windsor Castle, the expert suggested that Catherine may have been seen telling the brothers to “stop arguing”.

According to the expert, Prince William then reportedly turned to his wife and said: “Let’s move”.
Hickling then alleged that Meghan could feel a “tension” between the two. She allegedly told the pair: “Not today.”
More recently, after years of taking space from each other, Prince Harry has said to be interested in patching up his relationship with his brother.
The Duke of Sussex visited the UK this July on a five-day trip where he met with his father, King Charles, in a private meeting.

Prince Harry travelled to the royals’ Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House, where he was hosted by the monarch and Queen Camilla. However, he did not meet with his brother.
The Duke of Sussex has spoken publicly about his hopes to reunite with his family, most notably in a BBC interview in May 2025.
He said that any reconciliation would be in his family’s hands, adding: “If they don’t want that, that’s entirely up to them.”
