Rick Hoffman Looks Almost Unrecognizable From His Louis Litt Days on Suits as He Opens Up About the Life Changes Behind His New Look

Rick Hoffman is opening up about the lifestyle changes behind his striking new appearance after fans noticed his dramatic weight loss.

The 56 year old actor recently caught attention by posting a selfie on Instagram, showing off a noticeably slimmer frame while wearing a checked button down shirt and gray slacks.

Hoffman kept the post simple, captioning it “#Circlingback,” while adding the words “Been a min” across the photo. It didn’t take long for followers to flood the comments with compliments about his transformation.

“What a transformation,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “Someone is lit!”

Among those reacting was Hoffman’s former Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty, who responded with fire and heart eyes emojis.

One follower also asked the question many fans were wondering: what helped Hoffman lose the weight?

The actor didn’t hesitate to answer.

“Intense intermittent fasting and keto diet,” Hoffman replied, adding that he also eliminated alcohol.

According to the Mayo Clinic, intermittent fasting focuses on when a person eats rather than what they eat, alternating between periods of normal eating and extended fasting. A ketogenic diet, commonly known as keto, emphasizes high fat and very low carbohydrate intake.

While Hoffman has not shared additional details about his health routine, he has previously been open about the personal challenges he has faced over the years.

During an interview in March, the actor reflected on developing severe anxiety at age 23 and later being diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), at a time when the condition was not widely understood.

“I got struck with major anxiety where I would be woken up and I felt like I was jumping out of my skin 24/7,” Hoffman recalled. “I was diagnosed with OCD, but this was back in 1993 when nobody really knew what the hell that was.”

Looking back, Hoffman said the experience ultimately changed his outlook on life and helped shape both his personal growth and career.

“Had I not had that happen, I never would have made it with any career,” he said. “It was a real quick slingshot through life lesson to really know where you stand on this planet.”

Nearly two decades after receiving that diagnosis, Hoffman landed the career defining role of Louis Litt on Suits. He portrayed the fan favorite attorney throughout the show’s nine season run before returning as Louis in the 2025 spinoff Suits L.A..

Speaking about reprising the role, Hoffman said he was both surprised and excited when the opportunity came along.

“When I got the call, I was naturally excited and surprised, and thrilled to say yes,” he said, adding that he appreciated how the series balanced Louis’ emotional journey with the character’s trademark humor.

Although Suits L.A. lasted only one season, Hoffman’s recent transformation and candid comments about his health have earned him renewed attention, with fans applauding both his physical changes and his openness about the challenges he has overcome.

Ohio Dad Survives Rare ‘Internal Decapitation’ After Work Accident An Ohio father is defying the odds after surviving a catastrophic workplace accident that left him internally decapitated — a condition where the skull becomes detached from the spine. The Accident In March, Philip Paul, a maintenance worker at Hocking Hills State Park, was clearing a tree during 60 mph winds. As he maneuvered a tractor to push the tree off the road, a massive branch swung back, striking him across the chest and shoulders. The impact forced his head backward until his skull separated from his C1 vertebrae. “My head popped off my spine… it never hurt, but I felt and heard the crack,” Paul recalled. Despite the severity of the injury, he remained conscious, stunned but able to think clearly. His coworkers rushed to his aid, shutting off the tractor, cutting the limb away, and stabilizing his neck until paramedics arrived. Medical Miracle Paul was rushed to OhioHealth Trauma Unit, where neurosurgeon Dr. Victor Awar diagnosed him with atlanto‑occipital dissociation, commonly known as internal decapitation. Most patients with this injury die instantly or suffer severe brainstem damage. Dr. Awar performed a complex surgery, attaching plates and screws to Paul’s skull and spine, connected by rods to restore stability. “Our goal was to build a bridge between the skull and spine,” Awar explained. The Road to Recovery Paul’s recovery has been grueling. He had to relearn how to swallow, surviving for weeks on thickened liquids. He battled double vision, confusion, and immense frustration. Yet his determination — and the support of his fiancée Haley Davidson — kept him moving forward. Haley learned to care for his tracheostomy, change bandages, and manage his daily needs while raising their two young children. “She shaved me, cut my hair, helped me shower. She’s a wonderful caretaker and fiancée,” Paul said. Family and Community Support Paul’s coworkers organized a meal train for his family and a GoFundMe to help with mounting medical bills. His children, though young, have begun to understand their father’s fragility. Haley shared how their oldest would say, “Doctor daddy,” whenever she left to visit him in the hospital. A Story of Hope Today, Paul is back home, walking, climbing stairs, and following his kids through the yard. He credits his survival to divine guidance and the quick actions of his coworkers. “Everything they did was perfect to ensure I can walk,” he said. Though the journey ahead is long, Paul’s resilience and the love of his family have turned a near‑fatal accident into a story of hope and perseverance.
