Rick Hoffman is opening up about the lifestyle changes behind his striking new appearance after fans noticed his dramatic weight loss.
The 56 year old actor recently caught attention by posting a selfie on Instagram, showing off a noticeably slimmer frame while wearing a checked button down shirt and gray slacks.
Hoffman kept the post simple, captioning it “#Circlingback,” while adding the words “Been a min” across the photo. It didn’t take long for followers to flood the comments with compliments about his transformation.
“What a transformation,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “Someone is lit!”

Among those reacting was Hoffman’s former Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty, who responded with fire and heart eyes emojis.
One follower also asked the question many fans were wondering: what helped Hoffman lose the weight?
The actor didn’t hesitate to answer.
“Intense intermittent fasting and keto diet,” Hoffman replied, adding that he also eliminated alcohol.

According to the Mayo Clinic, intermittent fasting focuses on when a person eats rather than what they eat, alternating between periods of normal eating and extended fasting. A ketogenic diet, commonly known as keto, emphasizes high fat and very low carbohydrate intake.
While Hoffman has not shared additional details about his health routine, he has previously been open about the personal challenges he has faced over the years.
During an interview in March, the actor reflected on developing severe anxiety at age 23 and later being diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), at a time when the condition was not widely understood.
“I got struck with major anxiety where I would be woken up and I felt like I was jumping out of my skin 24/7,” Hoffman recalled. “I was diagnosed with OCD, but this was back in 1993 when nobody really knew what the hell that was.”
Looking back, Hoffman said the experience ultimately changed his outlook on life and helped shape both his personal growth and career.
“Had I not had that happen, I never would have made it with any career,” he said. “It was a real quick slingshot through life lesson to really know where you stand on this planet.”
Nearly two decades after receiving that diagnosis, Hoffman landed the career defining role of Louis Litt on Suits. He portrayed the fan favorite attorney throughout the show’s nine season run before returning as Louis in the 2025 spinoff Suits L.A..

Speaking about reprising the role, Hoffman said he was both surprised and excited when the opportunity came along.
“When I got the call, I was naturally excited and surprised, and thrilled to say yes,” he said, adding that he appreciated how the series balanced Louis’ emotional journey with the character’s trademark humor.
Although Suits L.A. lasted only one season, Hoffman’s recent transformation and candid comments about his health have earned him renewed attention, with fans applauding both his physical changes and his openness about the challenges he has overcome.
