Fans won’t have to say goodbye to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler just yet. After a hugely successful debut, Dutton Ranch is officially returning for a second season.
The latest chapter in the Yellowstone universe premiered on May 15, bringing back Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as fan favorite couple Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The series quickly became one of Paramount+’s biggest success stories.

According to the streamer, Dutton Ranch delivered the most watched original series premiere in Paramount+ history, attracting 12.9 million viewers worldwide during its first week. The first two episodes also aired on Paramount Network the same day they launched online, becoming the network’s biggest cable drama premiere since 2023.
Jane Wiseman, Paramount+’s head of originals, praised the response in a June 2026 statement, saying Beth and Rip remain two of television’s most beloved characters. She also thanked Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios for helping bring the series to audiences with what she described as grit, heart and authenticity.
The first season wrapped up on July 3 with its ninth episode, titled “El Padrino.” Soon after, fans received confirmation that the story will continue.
Season 2 has officially been confirmed
On June 24, Paramount announced that Dutton Ranch had been renewed for a second season.
Matt Thunell, president of Paramount Television Studios, said the series successfully expanded the legacy of the Yellowstone franchise while creating its own identity. He added that the studio looks forward to delivering more stories centered on its memorable characters.

Who is expected to return?
The full cast for season 2 has not yet been announced.
Season 1 starred Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser alongside Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, Marc Menchaca, J.R. Villarreal and Natalie Alyn Lind. Academy Award nominees Ed Harris and Annette Bening also joined the cast in major roles.
Although Paramount has not confirmed which actors will return, a significant creative change has already taken place behind the scenes.
Series creator and executive producer Chad Feehan exited the project shortly before the show’s premiere.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in May, Hauser said leadership changes are common in television production and described them as part of the industry’s natural evolution.
Reilly echoed those thoughts, saying she was proud of the work completed with Feehan on the first season. She described the production as both demanding and rewarding, comparing the experience to making Yellowstone.
In June, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Benjamin Cavell would take over as showrunner for season 2. Cavell previously created SEAL Team, The Institute and co created Paramount+’s adaptation of The Stand.
When will season 2 arrive?

Paramount has not announced a release date for the new season.
Season 1 debuted on May 15 and ran for nine episodes before ending on July 3.
While fans wait for Dutton Ranch to return, another Yellowstone spinoff is already moving ahead. Marshals, starring Luke Grimes, has begun production on its second season.
