Noah Brown Shares Emotional Video Revealing the Heartbreaking News Nobody Was Prepared to Hear
In a raw and deeply personal video posted late at night, Noah Brown confirmed what many feared but hoped would never be true — his oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away at the age of 43.
A Brother’s Heartbreaking Announcement

Filmed at 10:34 PM, Noah appeared visibly exhausted, his voice unsteady as he delivered the devastating news to fans of the hit Discovery Channel series Alaskan Bush People. “It’s been a long day,” he began quietly, before revealing that Matthew’s body had been recovered from a river earlier that afternoon.
“At 3:27, the group I was working with located the missing body, and I identified it as Matthew,” Noah said, pausing between words as the weight of the moment settled in. “My oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away.”
Days of Searching Before the Devastating Discovery

According to Noah, he had spent the previous days working alongside multiple search and rescue teams in a relentless effort to find his brother. He expressed deep gratitude to the nonprofit group Ozark Search and Rescue, StarDog Rescue, and several local community members — including Sue Brazel, Damon Brown, Charles McNeal of Fun Guy, and Shay Moore — whose efforts ultimately led to the discovery.
“Locals went out searching and were responsible for the ones that actually spotted him,” Noah said, his voice cracking as he acknowledged each person by name despite his exhaustion.
“I Was There When We Pulled Him Out”
In one of the most emotionally difficult moments of the video, Noah confirmed he was present when Matthew’s body was recovered from the riverbank. A coroner arrived at the scene, and Noah personally went down to make the identification.
“His ID and social security card was on him, and I was able to visually identify that it was Matthew,” he shared. The moment was clearly one of the hardest of his life, and the video reflects that pain without filter.
A Deliberate Choice to Wait
Noah explained that he had intentionally held off on making any announcement until he had definitive confirmation — and until everyone who knew Matthew personally had been informed directly. “I didn’t want to post anything until we knew for certain,” he said. “And then once we knew, I wanted to make sure that everyone that knew us personally heard first.”
For those he was unable to reach in time, Noah offered a sincere apology: “I am sincerely sorry that I wasn’t able to tell you personally.”
Remembering Matthew Brown
Matthew Brown, best known as one of the central figures of Alaskan Bush People, leaves behind a legacy tied to rugged resilience and life on the frontier. He was 43 years old.
Noah closed his video with a quiet but powerful message: “Say your prayers, and tell people that you love that you love them while you can. God bless, guys.”
Our hearts go out to the entire Brown family during this incredibly difficult time. May Matthew rest in peace.
