The Voice season 26 blind auditions take a dramatic turn with a Grammy performance that makes everyone think about the 2024 winner

While there are just a few days left before The Voice returns for season 26, the show is already giving fans a taste of what to expect. Besides the show welcoming a new lineup of aspiring artists, The Voice also brought some fresh faces with Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. Although both singers shared their excitement about joining the competition, they sat beside Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani. With both singers having a rich history on the show, Bublé and Snoop will have to battle more than each other.

Sharing a video of the upcoming blind auditions, the preview showcased the talents of Sofronio Vasquez, who decided to perform Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down.” And even before he could find his footing in the song, Snoop apparently heard enough as he hit his buzzer. Although the first person to hit his buzzer, the rapper was followed by the rest of the coaches. With fans and the coaches cheering, Vasquez found himself in a difficult spot when having to decide which coach he wanted to go with.

When given a chance to speak with the contestant, Reba made it known how she struggled to hit her button. “I could not hit my button fast enough. Your voice is like butter. It is so easy on the ears. But your soulfulness touched my heart. You’ve got the whole package.”

While the season is long, Vasquez is undoubtedly a name to keep an eye on, as Stefani called his showing a “GRAMMY performance.”

Snoop Dogg Already Making A Name For Himself On ‘The Voice’

Stefani kept the praise coming for The Voice hopeful, adding that Vasquez sang like “somebody that knows God gave them the gift.” Even Bublé said the singer gave him goosebumps when performing on the stage.

Looking at what Snoop had to say, he considered Vasquez to be the pure definition of Soul. “This here is soul. Your soul. Your spirit. This is where you need to be … Get in where you fit in.”

While loving the praise from Snoop and the rest of the coaches, Vazquez could only pick one team to join. And with a great deal of pressure mounting, it appears fans will have to tune in on September 23rd at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock to find out.
