In a recent interview, Snoop Dogg opened up about his role as a coach on the popular singing competition show, emphasizing the genuine connections formed among the contestants. “Honestly, this is not just a TV show,” he stated. “We’re connected in real life. People will see it—they can’t fake it. It feels like a family reunion every time we get together.”
Snoop highlighted the unique contributions each coach brings to the table, stating that they all have fun and genuinely care about their craft. “I’ve never been part of a situation like this before, but as one of the rookies, I love my role and my position,” he said. He continued with a light-hearted note about enjoying the atmosphere on set, joking, “While they’re blowing all that smoke over there, I’m telling you the truth—the truth is the best coach.”
Drawing from his experience coaching youth football, Snoop explained how those skills translate to his new role. “I have to coach each kid individually based on their skill set, temperament, and how they receive information. That’s the same thing I’m doing with these singers,” he noted. “As a coach, it’s your job to see that and bring out the best in them. That’s why I’m Coach Snoop, the great baby!”
With a competitive spirit, Snoop acknowledged the previous season’s winner, Reba McEntire, saying, “Danny, I do need to remind you that I did win last year. I’d love to have you on my team.” As the competition heats up, he, along with fellow coaches Michael Bublé and Gwen Stefani, already have plans to lure country contestants to their teams.
“I’m willing to ride a bucking bull for 45 seconds with one hand just to get a country artist on my team,” he joked, showcasing his determination. He emphasized the magnetism Reba holds over country singers, saying, “You see their eyes when they see Reba and that smile—it’s over for you!”
As the competition unfolds, Snoop’s unique blend of humor, experience, and heartfelt coaching is sure to leave a lasting impact on both the contestants and the audience.
