Kelly Clarkson stuns fans with a major holiday announcement, leaving them in tears of joy and shock

Kelly Clarkson is gearing up to make her comeback as the host for NBC’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center broadcast, marking her second year in the role, much to the delight of her fans.

During the November 5th episode of her self-titled talk show, the American Idol alum, 42, told the audience: “Let’s talk about this incredible time of year. The city is so magical. I love the holidays in New York.”

The “Since U Been Gone” singer added: “Living here during Christmas is like you’re in a movie. There’s nothing like it in the world, especially the tree lighting ceremony, which is an iconic tradition.”

The Grammy winner continued: “I got to host it last year, and I thought, ‘Oh, this will be fun.’ […] Then, the tree lit up, and you would’ve thought, like, I don’t know, I found out I was going to survive something. I bawled.”

“It’s so beautiful when you’re standing there. I’m especially excited though, because for the second year in a row, I’m going to host Christmas in Rockefeller Center.”

In addition to emceeing the event, Clarkson will also delight the audience with renditions of holiday favorites at the tree-lighting ceremony. As fans know, the mom of two has two Christmas albums to her name: Wrapped in Red from 2013 and When Christmas Comes Around… from 2021.

Once The Kelly Clarkson Show’s official YouTube account posted the announcement, fans flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“I’m literally crying right now,” one wrote regarding the news of Clarkson’s hosting return as another added: “2 years in a row! You are absolutely an amazing and, adorable queen of music!” Someone else noted: “Kelly Clarkson, I can’t wait to see you until December 4th on NBC while you’re in a New York City Rockefeller plaza Huge Christmas tree.” One other replied: “Yay she is the best host she should be the host every year for the tree lighting.” (We couldn’t agree more!)
