Kelly Clarkson matches P!NK’s energy and vocal power perfectly, resulting in a duet that captivates the audience

Two vocal legends teamed up for the February 6th episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, which featured a special full hour of “Songs & Stories” with Pink. While there were many exciting highlights, Kelly Clarkson and Pink teaming up for a duet of Pink’s 2006 track “Who Knew” was simply iconic.

Clarkson is always keen to duet with her favorite musicians, and with a catalog like Pink’s, the collaboration was written in the stars. Clarkson and Pink performed a couple of Pink’s greatest hits on the show, including her 2017 track “What About Us” and a sneak peek of Pink’s upcoming album, Trustfall.

History was made after Clarkson and Pink took the stage for an acoustic version of “Who Knew” from Pink’s album I’m Not Dead. But before diving into a chilling performance, Clarkson chatted with Pink about the evolution of the song throughout the years.

“The thing about the song that I love now, after all these years, is that I never get tired of performing it, and it’s taken on so many different meanings over the years,” Pink explained. “It was about my grandmother at one point, it was about my dog. I’ve lost people and, so, it’s always sort of fresh in my heart.”

Clarkson and Pink reflected on the bittersweet nature of the song.

Pink and Kelly Clarkson Team Up to Sing 'What About Us'

“I need music to help me to my feelings,” Pink concluded before the powerhouse pair geared up for their performance alongside Pink’s lead guitarist Justin Derrico. Pink led the way, singing each note like an angel before Clarkson joined in with some haunting harmonies. As two of the most talented female vocalists in the industry, their voices blended like magic throughout the emotional performance.

“Who Knew” is an early 2000s classic, so it was no shocker when they earned a standing ovation from the crowd. Their duet was nostalgic, simply put! Also: mesmerizing and hypnotically entertaining. They need to get in the studio ASAP!
