Celebrity Big Brother star Courtney Stodden shares shocking hospital video after head injury leaves them needing brain scans

A Celebrity Big Brother star has shared a video in which they are bleeding from the head after being rushed to hospital following an injury. Courtney Stodden, a model who was on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, said they hit their head on a counter and ‘busted their head open’.

In the video, Courtney was in a car that was taking them to hospital and had blood all over their head and chest. They tearfully told the camera: “This is your reminder, when you drop something, don’t bend down and quickly… don’t bend and snap. I bended and snapped and tried to pick up the phone that I dropped and I busted my head open in public.”

They then turned the camera to the street and said: “There goes the fire truck. They’re like ‘we’re not dealing with you’. But this is just a reminder. Be careful. Be careful you guys.”

In the caption, the 31 year old star added: “Don’t bend and snap… slow down. I dropped my phone, reached too fast, and hit the edge of a counter so hard my head split open. Blood everywhere… ended up in the ER getting it glued shut. Nothing glamorous about moving too fast just to grab something that doesn’t matter. Slow down. Your body keeps the score.”

Courtney shared even more information in the comments, where they said: “Got a CT scan, no brain bleed I’m okay just a hard hit… reminder to slow down. Life will literally make you if you don’t.”

Courtney was a housemate in the 12th series of Celebrity Big Brother, which was won by Charlotte Crosby. They were just 18 at the time. Two years earlier, the then 16 year old shot to fame when they married The Green Mile star Doug Hutchinson, who was 51 at the time. Courtney’s mother had to sign off on the marriage as the legal age of consent in California is 18.

Doug and Courtney remained married for nine years before divorcing in 2020, having separated in 2016. After getting divorced, Courtney said that, in hindsight, they felt they had been “taken advantage of”. In an Instagram statement, they said: “It’s March 3rd, 2020 – today I am officially divorced from actor Doug Hutchison. It’s an emotional day for me. God only knows how he’s feeling, but I can tell you that it’s for the better.

“I look back at this picture and feel absolutely taken advantage of. I’ve been scared to even speak up about feeling groomed or being verbally abused during the almost 10 year marriage because I was a child and he was 50 when we married but I’m a woman now and it’s time for me to put my big girl pants on and speak on this matter.”

The star, who came out as non-binary the following year, added: “I’ve felt completely trapped, manipulated and at times abandoned by adults. Growing up in such an environment — it became a lonely and dark place.”

They finished their post with a message for Doug: “I’ll always love you; yet I’ll always be angry. You’ve left me — a child woman, feeling belittled and confused. These things I shall overcome. I wish you well. But please don’t ever do this to another minor again. It’s not right… even if the parent signs off. Wait a respectable amount of time before marrying. Children aren’t on your level. I’ll always love you regardless. Be better. As shall I.”

Doug also spoke about the marriage. He said to Fox News: “I shot my career in the head for love. And in doing so, I lost my family and friends. I was suddenly on the Titanic and everyone was fleeing except for me and Courtney. Now, I have nothing to lose but, to tell the truth.

“For a long time, I acted out of fear and lies for that same reason — I was afraid to burn bridges. Now, what am I afraid of? There is absolutely nothing to lose by telling the truth.”

He later added: “I don’t believe in living a life of regret. I think that every choice we make, we make them for a reason… I have absolutely no regrets in my life.

“Do I wish I would have handled certain aspects of my life differently or said … some things differently? Yes — like everybody else. But my marriage to Courtney is not one of them. I regret none of it. It was a beautiful and powerful journey. A bittersweet journey with Courtney.”
