Could Levine foreshadow with Shelton’s text that Shelton may return after season 27? Shelton said he’d possibly consider returning if the “original four” coaches joined. The four original coaches were Levine, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera.

“If they were ever able to put together the original four coaches again, maybe [I’d return] for one season, a one-off,” Shelton told Entertainment Tonight. “That would be fun for me …. That would be something I would be interested in doing.”

Unfortunately, Shelton hasn’t commented on Levine’s return. While using Shelton’s text as a hook to keep viewers watching his video was a great idea from Levine, no additional evidence suggests Shelton plans to return. Aguilera and Green haven’t commented on Levine’s return to the show.

Adam Levine had a funny response to Blake Shelton leaving the series

Adam Levine Reportedly Wants Blake Shelton to Replace *This* Voice Coach: 'He's Definitely Stirring the Pot'

Adam Levine didn’t coach as many consecutive seasons as Blake Shelton. When Shelton decided to call it quits on the show after 23 seasons, Levine had a funny response.

“It’s about time!” Levine told Entertainment Tonight.

Levine and Shelton cited similar reasons for wanting to leave the show behind. The men hoped to slow down and spend more time with their families. “I was ready to not be doing it anymore, I think for a little bit,” Levine told Howard Stern in 2019, according to Yahoo. “I think that when it all kind of naturally happened, I was like, ‘OK, it feels right.’ For better or worse, the moment in which we decided to walk away felt really good. It was the right time for me to go.”

Additional sources claimed that Levine became “difficult” to work with on set and “checked out” of coaching before officially quitting.

Blake Shelton Kissed Adam Levine on the Cheek at His Walk of Fame Ceremony | NBC Insider

Blake Shelton and Adam Levine seemed like best friends on The Voice. However, additional sources claim the buddies aren’t as close as they seem.

“It wasn’t all an act, but the relationship was exaggerated for TV,” an insider told RadarOnline in 2022. “When Adam left the show, the two of them didn’t have to pretend anymore.”

“They haven’t spoken in a while,” another insider said. “There was no big dramatic falling out, but they both just moved on. It happens all the time with work relationships. As we are all finding out, Adam isn’t the guy he pretends to be. He has secrets and was difficult backstage at The Voice. When he left the show, there wasn’t a single person, including Blake, who missed Adam and his drama.”

With this in mind, Shelton might not want to join Levine on The Voice in the future.
