“I just love being near them,” Levine, 45, told about his three kids with wife Behati Prinsloo — daughters Dusty Rose, 8, and Gio Grace, 6, and a 2-year-old son whose name they have not publicly revealed. “I love to watch every single step. And of course, you miss when they’re tiny, and then they get bigger, and then you say, ‘Oh, my God, they’re so big,’ and then you appreciate all the things you can do with them when they get bigger.”
In the interview, posted online on Friday, January 31, Levine called life with his family the “best thing in the world” and compared it to “this amazing, never-ending movie.”
Levine stepped away from The Voice in 2019 after 16 seasons, saying that it was “time to move on” in an Instagram post at the time. The decision allowed him to focus on his family.

Now Levine, who will be joining The Voice coaches John Legend, Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini for Season 27 (premiering Monday, February 3), insists he will stay true to his personal ideals and coaching philosophy on the popular singing competition.
“I’ve always kind of tried to be nice,” the Maroon 5 frontman told People. “I give people my experiential knowledge. It’s scientifically proven that it’s counterproductive to be mean. There’s just no f—ing reason to act that way.”

Levine admitted that fatherhood has made him more sentimental as the years have passed. “And yeah, I’ve softened, I mean, I have three kids, I cry every day,” he said.
In the interview, the musician noted that while leaving his kids for work can be “heartbreaking,” it gives him purpose. “It’s kind of a selfish thing when you start and you’re on your own,” he said. “And now, and my kids know this too, I tell them this every time I have to leave for a period, I’m just like, ‘I’m doing this for you guys,’ which is a hundred percent true. I’m out there for them.”
In addition to The Voice, Levine is gearing up for international performances with Maroon 5 as well as an eight-show residency in Las Vegas.
