14-year-old Jaukeem Fortson brings Michael Jackson’s magic back in his ‘Man in the Mirror’ performance

At only 14 years old, Jaukeem Fortson is proud of the “Man in the Mirror.”

During the performance, Fortson had all of the coaches dancing in their seats before they rose up to clap their hands together and sing along with him.

After he finishes, former coach Reba McEntire is the first to provide feedback — and she couldn’t be more proud.

“I’m so proud of you. You put your heart and your soul into your singing. I’ve always been a big fan of that song,” the country star, 69, says. “You made it yours. I love you with all my heart.”

Gwen Stefani adds, “This is the first time that I’ve seen you unleash the beast. Your whole body language has grown so much in a couple of weeks it’s unbelievable.”

Snoop Dogg then compliments his ability to take “advantage of that song” and make it his.

“You had a good time. I even seen you catch the holy spirit,” he says. “That’s what it’s supposed to do. You’re supposed to take it with you everywhere you go. Thank you.”

Finally, his coach Michael Bublé only has good things to say.

“You have the ability at 14 years old to execute. That’s the way you sang the song, the way you chose the notes, I just kept getting up and going, ‘Oh!’ You just filled this whole place up with love. Way to go Jaukeem,” he says.

Fortson is one of the youngest contestants to ever appear on The Voice. During the knockouts round last week, Fortson was stolen by Bublé after McEntire, his former coach, chose Adam Bohanan to move on to the next round.

“I stole Jaukeem because when I was a kid, people saw the potential in me and loved me enough to give me that shot,” Bublé, 49, said. “I love that I can do that with Jaukeem. I think he earned it today.”

“We need to see more Black kids like this,” added Snoop, 53. “I want to commend your parents, your grandparents, and everybody for raising you the right way. This is what a young Black kid looks like.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC at 8 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Peacock the next day.
