Kelly Clarkson Impresses Lou Gramm in Epic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Duet to Celebrate Foreigner’s Timeless Legacy

While Clarkson might not be a legendary rock star, the American Idol alum already proved herself to be a master when it comes to Foreigner’s songs. Back in 2016, she took a moment to honor the lives lost at an Orlando nightclub by covering “I Want to Know What Love Is.” The performance gained high praise from fans and proved the wide range of the singer. And following that same style, she dazzled on stage as she performed the same song. But this time, she got some help from the legendary Lou Gramm. She wasn’t the only one to take center stage. Demi Lovato and Hagar also celebrated the band. The duo joined in for performances of “Feels Like the First Time” and “Hot Blooded.”

Clarkson’s vocal performance (per usual) was the talk of the internet, with many putting her in the conversation of the best singer in the world. As for others, they’ve seen enough to anoint Clarkson a Hall of Famer in her own right.

“Kelly Clarkson simply amazing….. you did Foreigner justice tonight with Lou Graham!” one fan wrote. “Oh she would absolutely crush it. Her runs are just flawless,” another added.

Kelly Clarkson Rocks The Stage As Fans Notice Foreigner Members Missing

Although the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony featured a few surprises, Clarkson announced her participation on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “This is pretty cool. In two weeks, I’m gonna be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, because I get to help honor the legendary band Foreigner, which I am so stoked about! It’s gonna be so good. I am so honored. I hope I don’t mess up.”

As for the members of Foreigner, fans noticed neither Mick Jones nor Dennis Elliott were in attendance. Just a few days ago, Elliott announced his decision not to participate due to scheduling. “We were finally given the schedule last night, and it is not to our satisfaction. So we are staying home. We have been asking for this for weeks, and they have waited until the very last minute to send it knowing we were all packed and going to bed.” Looking at Jones, Billboard reported the musician would skip the ceremony due to his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease.

For those who missed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the event can be streamed on Disney+. The ceremony will also air on ABC on January 1, 2025.
