Glen Campbell’s Heartbreaking Goodbye: Glen Campbell’s Final Song is a Tearjerker And You Won’t Forget

The song starts very slowly as Glen begins to sing the lyrics, “I’m still here, but yet I’m gone. I don’t play guitar or sing my songs. They never defined who I am.”

Glen sings in the studio, but there are also flashbacks of him as a young man in concert. He holds platinum records and is adored by fans. It shows videos of him and his family as kids through the years.

It also shows Glen’s scan for ‘Alzheimer’s Disease.’ The video celebrates Glen’s life and accomplishments and includes footage of him on trips with his wife.

More footage shows Glen having fun on stage, standing at his parent’s graves, and in the studio again. At the song’s close, Glen reads the title on the paper and walks off onto his final stage.

The song’s emotional chorus contains the lyrics, “And best of all, I’m not gonna miss you, not gonna miss you. I’m never gonna hold you like I did or say, “I love you” to the kids. You’re never gonna see it in my eyes.”

The song was written and released in 2014 for the soundtrack to the documentary ‘Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me.’ The movie showcased Glen’s final tour, and the tune won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song.
